Kiterinha

We couldn’t get a room here at first because the posada was full, but the host still helped us find somewhere nearby. When we ran into problems there, including no water and check-in trouble, he came right over and helped sort things out. That kindness really stood out. We ended up coming back several evenings for dinner. The food was so good that after the first night we booked another meal, then another. We had tacos, grilled skewers with potatoes, and fresh, creative dishes. The big shared table made it easy to talk and laugh with everyone, especially other kitesurfers. The atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming, like a little community. The host also looks after three lovely cats, and it’s clear he cares about animals and people. There’s a warm, family-like feeling around the place. For us, this is the best address in Macapa. We hope to stay here next time, and would absolutely recommend it for the food and the people behind it.

The people are what make Michale’s Pousada Kiterinha special. Michale, the staff, and the guests create a welcoming, authentic atmosphere, and we left with friendships from around the world that will last. The food and drinks were both fantastic, too. It’s also ideally placed, just a short walk from one of Brazil’s best kite spots at Praia da Macapa. We’d love to come back year after year.

I came to Kiterinha alone with hardly any experience kiting, and left ten days later with a new kiting family, lots of support, and the skills to ride independently. I extended my stay and went home smiling, with a very full heart. I’ll definitely be back. The food was the best I had on my trip, and there’s a gym too :)

Only a two-minute walk from the beach, so Kiterinha is a great place to stay in Macapá. The staff were funny, friendly, and wonderful, and we loved the delicious food and amazing atmosphere. We’ll be back for sure 😊
