Lagoa Mar Hotel

A decent place to stay overnight.

Really great.

The location was excellent, close to a pharmacy, market, the waterfront, and easy to reach other places. The air conditioning also worked well. Beyond those points, this stay was disappointing and needs a lot of improvement before it can offer real comfort. The building felt old and poorly maintained, and the place wasn't fully clean. The towels shed fibers onto my body, which was unpleasant. The room had two levels. Upstairs was a large bathroom, but the shower stall was tiny, its door wouldn't shut properly, and the faulty shower sprayed water outside it. Downstairs there was a double bed and a small kitchen. The fridge was rusty, the laundry sink had no tap, and the lower bathroom had no shower, so we had to use the upstairs one via a spiral staircase. That was uncomfortable, especially for anyone with limited mobility. The downstairs toilet was so close to the wall that sitting properly was difficult, particularly for someone with longer legs. Breakfast was basic, with few choices and the same items each day.

The location was the only good part. There was a cockroach in the room, so I kept my sandals on the whole time because I was so grossed out. The bathroom curtain was old and unattractive, and the shower soaked the whole area. The towels were stained, too. When I tried to open the room curtain, it fell down because it was so worn out. The TV was small and would switch itself on in the middle of the night. It felt like a horror movie.
