A scorpion turned up in the room, which was the last straw. The breakfast was poor, with very few choices. The air conditioner in my room didn't work and just made noise. I asked to move rooms, but they said they couldn't, even though the inn had lots of empty rooms. A terrible place to stay.

The breakfast was a mess. We got up late one day and there was nothing left, so the cook, looking embarrassed, made some couscous while we waited. The owner had said there'd be only one cake for all the guests, so whoever arrived early got some and the rest went without. Another morning there was only couscous with butter at first, and the egg didn't show up until after 8. No fruit, cassava, or anything else. It felt like they wanted to make money without spending on supplies, and didn't care about guests coming back. We paid for a comfortable stay, but the welcome was awful. There was nobody to greet us when we arrived, the air conditioner was noisy, and they didn't clean the room. What a disrespectful way to treat customers. I can't recommend it.

The price is affordable, the facilities are very good, and the service was great. I'll stay at pousada El Shaday again when I return to Maceió.
