Great!

The pousada is quite basic, but very clean, and the reception service is really good. Breakfast, though, was a letdown. It starts late at 7 a.m., which doesn’t make sense when guests head out early for tours. And even at that time, the food wasn’t all ready. I stayed for 6 days, and every day items came out almost 30 minutes late. The cakes were old, too. One morning a cake was served at 7:40, burnt on top and a little raw inside, and that same cake was served for 3 days in a row. The scrambled eggs would run out and took a while to be replenished. The kitchen staff also seemed unfriendly and grumpy. When we asked them to make tapioca, they looked at us as if we were bothering them.

The room was wonderful, spotlessly clean, tidy, and smelled fresh. Mine had a double bed and a bunk bed, a table with two chairs, a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, dishes, glasses, cutlery, and a sink for washing up. There were lots of places to hang clothes and plenty of outlets, including by the bed. The bathroom was spacious, with a glass shower enclosure and a huge showerhead. The pousada is in the same block as one of the main markets and just a block from another large one. There’s a market on the block behind it, too. You can walk to the “eu amo maceio” sign, sereia Pajuçara, and other sights. The beach is close, with a public shower there as well. Breakfast was generous: fresh-from-the-oven cakes, which I love to eat warm, four kinds of fruit, strong regional juices, bread, yogurt, cuscuz, calabresa, scrambled eggs, and macaxeira. What I loved most was the tapioca made to order. You pick a flavor and the kitchen staff prepare it for you. There’s a 24-hour front desk, and the pousada is right next to Casa de Mainha, a restaurant I recommend too. I highly recommend this place and will stay here again. Thanks to the staff for all their dedication.

We were four people and the room was cozy and clean, with more than enough beds for all of us, haha. We stayed 3 days and had a great time. Shops and everything else were close by, including downtown, so I never even took my car out of the garage. The reception was wonderful, and everyone there was always polite. My only note is that the kitchen staff should keep a closer eye on restocking breakfast. I went down at 7:40 and lots of things were already missing, even though two people were working in the kitchen. Aside from that, breakfast was simple but very good. I’ll come back again!

The service from all the staff was excellent, and the rooms and shared spaces are decorated with local crafts. My room was simple but comfortable, with a mini fridge, air conditioning, and a shower with good water pressure. There was no desk in the room, but they let me work at a table in the breakfast room, which I really appreciated. Breakfast has a limited selection, but it’s very good, especially the tapioca made to order. I loved the fresh coconut and guava paste filling. The hotel is very close to the waterfront in Ponta Verde, Maceió’s best neighborhood. It’s excellent value for money, and I strongly recommend it.
