The breakfast was one of the best parts: lots to choose from, and very good. The woman making tapiocas and omelettes was especially lovely, always friendly and careful with her work. The room and breakfast cleaning staff were kind and attentive too. The pool area was enjoyable, with a DJ playing great music on Sunday from about 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The gym was among the best I’ve seen in a hotel, spacious and clean, with towels and filtered water. The building, pool, and especially the beds look and feel beautiful, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Still, once you’re staying at the Ritz Lagoa da Anta, it doesn’t quite feel like a five-star experience. The details fell short. In the bathroom there was only bar soap and a combined shampoo and conditioner, with no body lotion or facial soap, even after I asked reception. There wasn’t a kettle, complimentary tea or coffee, bottled water, or an iron, and our room for three had only two glasses. Vegetarian choices were very limited, and many of the dishes listed weren’t available. Communication was difficult too. We found just one receptionist who spoke Spanish, while most of our group spoke only Spanish. Everyone was kind and courteous, but that didn’t make it easy to communicate. The elevators sometimes went up when we’d called them to go down. On a couple of nights, our room lost power completely. Internet coverage was poor and the connection unstable. It was a pleasant stay in a lovely-looking hotel, but the amenities and attention to detail didn’t match what I’d expect from a real five-star place.

A great resort with plenty of facilities, right by the beach. The rooms have a classic look, not modern, but they’re well maintained and don’t feel old. The room staff were excellent, even folding all your clothes.

The pool area is very good, the restaurant food is great, and service is generally quick and friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean, with a wonderfully comfortable bed. Cleanliness overall is excellent. The beach across the street is polluted, though, and at times you can smell it from the pool. You can hear everything outside through the windows, so they really need soundproof replacements. If noise doesn’t bother you like it does me, you’ll love staying here.

The pool is really nice, and the rooms have good showers. Breakfast was delicious and changed from day to day. The location is handy too, not far from convenient areas in Maceió. But after eight days here with my family at the end of September 2024, I probably wouldn’t come back. There were some good things, but several disappointments made the stay less enjoyable. On our first day in Maceió, just after breakfast, some workers approached my family and me about a 30-minute presentation, supposedly in exchange for a gift coupon for a nice restaurant. They never explained what the presentation was about, and it took almost 90 minutes out of our day. They made it sound like a limited offer for that day only, which seemed like a scam. The coupon was worth much less than they’d said, though the restaurant itself was good. The biggest problem was the hotel Wi-Fi. It worked only sometimes, kept disconnecting and reconnecting, and was barely enough for basic things like sending messages. Free Wi-Fi at the beach was much faster. I complained three times; they tried to “fix” it each time, but nothing improved. My family on the third floor and I on the sixth had the same issue, and other guests said they did too. One evening I tried to order dinner through an app, the connection dropped, and the order went through twice. I couldn’t cancel because the Wi-Fi was down and the page wouldn’t load. Calling the restaurant to sort it out was a hassle; both deliveries arrived, and I had to send one back, risking the cost and wasting the delivery person’s time. It was stressful, especially imagining the same problem with something work-related. They ask every day how you’re enjoying your stay, but it doesn’t feel like they really mean it. The room also wasn’t soundproof. We could hear everything outside, from people talking to footsteps, and people outside could hear into the room.

The room was disappointing, with a strong mold smell and no clothes hangers, iron, or ironing board. Still, the staff were very friendly and tried their best to make the stay pleasant. The hotel is very close to the beach, which is a big plus, and breakfast has lots of good options. Paid parking is available at the hotel.
