Casa Perpetua hotel d charm

The room was very good, breakfast tasty, and the staff great. A very nice stay. There's no elevator, so ask for a main floor room if that's important for you.

Diego checked us in and helped us throughout the stay, always greeting us with a big smile. Nothing was too much trouble, and I'm grateful for his help. The location is perfect, close to the beautiful Opera House and some excellent restaurants. Our room was fine, a little dated, but the bed was comfortable, the shower hot, and the AC cold. We enjoyed the excellent breakfast, and the small pool was just right for cooling off on a warm night. Five stars from me.

The central location in Manaus is excellent, and the decor has a picturesque look with lots of antique objects. The rooms are OK and have AC. Getting to some rooms involves stairs: you go up a set at the entrance, then down another if your room is on a lower level. Service was disappointing. I had to ask for extra toilet paper, the towels weren't very good, and breakfast was short on utensils and forks. The small pool wasn't clean or usable. It's an OK choice for a few days, but I wouldn't stay longer.

The young night porter was amazing. The older woman at the day reception, though, seemed annoyed whenever we interrupted her phone use, and she was eating food meant for guests. We were first put in the largest room, right on the street and below reception, so we could hear everything. The bed was rock hard, like sleeping on the floor. Thankfully, they moved us to another room, which was much better. The house is beautiful.
