Fitz restaurant was the highlight for me. The food was excellent and the strongest part of the stay. The staff at Villa Amazônia were also very kind, attentive, and welcoming throughout. The breakfast was quite average and a little disappointing for a hotel that presents itself as a high-end boutique stay. The coffee was good, but the rest of the selection wasn’t especially memorable. It’s a pleasant hotel, though beyond the restaurant and friendly staff, nothing else really stood out. Given its concept and reputation, I expected a few more memorable touches.

The people working here were wonderful to be around, and the rooms were comfortable enough, with decor that felt suitably relaxed. The bigger problem was management: there was no follow-through, and the price asks a lot for what you get. No welcome drink, little extras, or turndown service, and they even charged me for milk for my coffee. I asked because I don't drink coffee without it, and I felt that should have been provided without a fuss. The Mercure costs about the same for a whole week as this place charges per night, and its staff are attentive without nickel-and-diming you. It left me feeling like a credit card swipe instead of a guest. This hotel could be so much more, especially with such great staff. A big miss for Manaus.

The restaurant handled our large group on short notice, and even a late room service request was no problem. The staff went above and beyond throughout our stay. Our room was spacious and really comfortable, too. In the middle of Manaus's chaotic, lively city center, the hotel felt like a calm oasis. We had high expectations and it easily earned five stars from us. We'd stay again, and now we're curious to try their sister property, Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge.

The employees seemed like a good team, and the modern building was well maintained. We only stopped for lunch, but the food and service were fantastic. I'd definitely recommend lunch here, and if you've got money to spend, staying overnight sounds worth considering.

The pool and gym were both nice, and the gym had plenty of equipment. We only stayed one night and had little time for breakfast, but what we tried was delicious. It was served in the hotel's old section, where the traditional flooring reminded us of the Opera House. The hotel was clean and lovely, right in the old city center, with the Opera House in view as you leave the building. It's a beautiful place, though quite pricey to stay in.
