Pousada das Pedras

The worst part was the bathroom: awful, with a loose soap holder, a broken towel hook, and terrible soap. The bed was old and falling apart, the sheet had a hole, and the inflatable single sofa was punctured. The bedroom door lock also had a problem. The only good part was the woman serving breakfast.

The location is good, but the pool and its surrounding area are tiny, and the place left a lot to be desired. Our room was very small, with a shower stall that barely fits an average-sized woman. The family room is bigger, though its bathroom is quite old. Breakfast was satisfactory, nothing special. What made the stay especially unpleasant was the attitude toward guests. The owner is extremely rude, and there was a real lack of professionalism and respect. At breakfast, one employee loudly complained the whole time I was eating. Apparently a guest had asked to have breakfast by the pool because the dining area was packed and tiny, rather than wait at reception for a table. She said the guest had to wait because eating by the pool wasn't allowed. I wasn't there when it ended, but she kept loudly saying she only follows the “boss's” orders and didn't care if the guest complained on Booking. When I went back to my room, she was still complaining at reception. It was completely out of place and unpleasant to hear first thing in the morning. Employees reflect their “boss,” so maybe it shouldn't have been a surprise.

For the price, I liked it. My room had three beds and was simple but fine, and breakfast was basic but good. Service was okay too. I'd heard people say the owner was arrogant, but I didn't meet him since I just slept there and left. I can't speak for the other rooms.

My wife and I really liked the inn. Everything was clean, breakfast was excellent, and the breakfast employee was very attentive. The owner was polite, and reception was excellent too.
