A wonderful place to stay, right on the sand, and it also has a restaurant with delicious food.

Ponta do Mangue is a wonderful location, and being right on the beach is a big advantage for this hostel and campground. The shared veranda is pleasant, with hammocks and tasteful rustic decor, and some people there were polite and kept things orderly. But there are a lot of issues, especially with how customers are treated. The campground area worked for us on earlier visits, but it only suits you if your tent isn't very big and there aren't other tents around. Otherwise, there may not be room. The camping facilities are limited. There is a covered hut and power outlets, but that's standard for many campgrounds. The bathrooms, one men's and one women's, are tiny and poorly maintained. They're always very wet, with no upkeep or even cloths or brooms to dry the floor. Hostel guests with suites also use the shared bathrooms instead of their suites, so they need more frequent cleaning. The shower stalls are cramped, the curtains are moldy and torn, the sinks have no soap, toilet paper runs out, and the toilets aren't kept in basic order. Service by direct message or WhatsApp is slow. If you're looking for information before making a reservation, contact them well in advance. The serving staff also seemed unprepared and were poor at service. They left dirty plates, cups, and rubbish on the tables by the camping area, and spent a lot of time sitting and chatting instead of paying attention to the many tasks that needed doing. We felt campers were treated badly compared with guests in the suites. It seemed as if campers were a nuisance and didn't get the same attention. The owners and other staff made their disdain pretty clear in their looks, the way they spoke to us, and how they dealt with our needs. Other people we befriended at the campground said they felt the same way. Campers may pay less now, but could book a suite next time, and shouldn't be discriminated against either way. More restaurants and beach stalls have opened around the campground, and it's lost some of the peace and quiet it used to have. We woke early, between 6 and 7 am, to loud sertanejo music. I have nothing against the style, but the growth has taken away some of the place's former native vibe. Everything on the menu was extremely expensive for the quality served. If you're not bringing groceries to cook, I wouldn't recommend the food from the kitchen there. Drinks were also priced far too high. Be ready to spend a LOT if you don't bring your own things.

I spent five days here after arriving by bike without food supplies, and ate breakfast, lunch, snacks, and appetizers at the campground. The cooking was wonderful, and there are also some great bars within walking distance, plus lots of iFood options. The staff were thoughtful and attentive, and owner Wendel was especially helpful from our first WhatsApp messages onward. The facilities are fantastic. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, stove, microwave, plates, cups, and cutlery, and it's always clean. There are four bathrooms, men's and women's, and they were very clean too. The campground is right on the sea and sand, with a great swimming beach. At low tide, sandbars appear just in front, close enough to walk out to. The sunrise there is beautiful. This is the best campground in Alagoas for me. It was well worth it, and I'll be back!

We stayed in the campground, which was clean and well organized, with lots of shade, outlets, and a quiet atmosphere. We also had the regional breakfast, which costs extra, and tried the bar and restaurant. Everything was well prepared, from the drinks to the snacks, and the chef deserves praise. The owners and staff were so welcoming and friendly that we felt right at home. They were also consistently wearing masks, and the women in the kitchen and serving wore caps and masks too. The place is full of plants and feels cozy, a lovely spot for families. It was a wonderful trip with my partner, and I already want to return. This place is simply amazing, a little piece of heaven that went beyond all my expectations!
