We only went to the restaurant and ordered fried cioba fish with pirão. The fish was good, but the pirão wasn’t. The wait was over an hour even though the place was empty, and the service was poor from the start. It wasn’t worth the price. When we paid, the staff member turned away and left without saying anything, looking annoyed. We hadn’t complained, and still paid the useless service charge. I simply can’t recommend it to anyone.

We waited two hours for a simple snack, even after reminding the waitress about our order. She laughed about it and kept saying it would come out eventually, while people who arrived after us were served. We later found out she’d forgotten the order several times and it had been lost. Another staff member was upset when we decided to leave after waiting so long. The snack arrived just as we were going. It had all been reheated, and we’d already decided to leave. The person in charge tried to fix things, but it was too late. They ruined the experience. Avoid this place if you don’t want to be treated badly.

The owners live in the area and were really friendly and attentive. The food was wonderful and well priced. On the first day, I went on the trip to Croa de São Bento, which is much prettier than the Maragogi pools, and spent the day there, having lunch at the restaurant. I came back the next day just for lunch. I recommend both the trip to Croa and the restaurant. You can arrange the trip right at the restaurant.

The staff were very attentive, but the delays were a serious issue for both the starters and the main dish. We arrived at 13h10 and ordered two starters and a seafood moqueca for two. The moqueca didn’t arrive until 14h20. That’s a long wait at a restaurant on the itinerary for people taking excursions, and it’s a problem if you have a tour booked.
