Pousada Hércules Beach Paradise

I booked at the last minute and it turned out to be a great choice. Breakfast had plenty of options, the room smelled really fresh, and the internet never let me down.

I wasn't able to stay, so I can't comment on the accommodation or service itself. I do want to explain what happened. I booked through Booking for 135.00 for one person, with air conditioning and breakfast, and the listing said pets were accepted. It was more than 10 km from downtown Maragogi, with no parking and an unpaved street, but I'd checked the location on Maps and chose it carefully because I was looking for somewhere that far from the center and without much infrastructure. I arrived at 7 p.m. Two staff members helped me and were so attentive and over-the-top cordial that I found it strange. They asked for my documents to photocopy and to complete Booking reservation no. 6103.065.425, PIN 1732, then told me to wait more than 20 minutes. One of them came back looking embarrassed and said the owner charges 120 reais per pet, per night. I own #QueensBistroeHotel and accept pets. I've also stayed with pets at well-known places like #IBIS and #ASTER, among others. To me, a fair fee would be up to 50% of the accommodation price. Asking for a full person's nightly rate as a surprise felt unfair. Although the place advertises that it accepts animals, there was no visible price list or information about pet fees at reception. In my humble opinion, this was an abusive charging practice.

Just to be clear, this is a simple, very family-oriented pousada. If you're very demanding, I'd suggest a resort where rates start at R$ 3k per night. You can't compare a Fusca with a BMW. For someone uncomplicated who wants a basic but really pleasant place to stay, I recommend it. The stay itself was wonderful. The atmosphere was peaceful, the rooms were spotless, well equipped, and comfortable, and breakfast was varied and delicious, served with a lot of care. Hércules and the whole team were warm and attentive from the start, always ready with local tips and tour suggestions. A lovely spot to rest and enjoy, and one we'd happily return to.

We were the only guests when we stayed at the Hercules Hotel in May, the low season in northern Brazil, so we had the pool to ourselves. The breakfast buffet was still very generous despite the quiet occupancy, and it was perfect. The hotel and our air-conditioned room were clean. Arthur gave us a very warm welcome and was helpful with advice throughout the stay, including finding ways for us to get around since downtown Maragogi isn't very convenient from there. There's a beach close by, plus several restaurants, a pharmacy, and a small shop right next door. We highly recommend it for the warm welcome. Emilie and Coline
