This place is worth staying at.

We arrived tired and hungry from our trip, and the place seemed pleasant at first. But the service was awful, and the food was disappointing. The woman serving us seemed angry and like she didn’t want us there. I couldn’t understand the reaction, but bad service deserves a negative review. Such a letdown.

The room was so dirty that I could only manage two of the four nights I’d booked. There was a huge cockroach inside, yellow stains on the sheets, and the shower only had cold water. The towels felt like floor rags, there was no room service, and I heard what sounded like rats in the roof. The air conditioner made a noise like a jackhammer, so sleeping with it on was impossible. When I complained, the man was very rude and told me to cancel the reservation if I wasn’t happy. It was money wasted. Cleanliness is essential, even in a simple place. I don’t recommend it.

I love Maragogi, and this pousada is simple, family-like, and inexpensive. They charge by the room, and the one I stayed in could fit a family with two adults and two children. It had a TV and air conditioning. The buffet food was really good and there was plenty of variety. The owners are down-to-earth and attentive.
