Pousada Céu & Mar de Taipu

My mother and her partner were staying here, while we were camping somewhere else. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home too, even though we weren’t guests. Lovely people, and the location is very convenient.

The sea is only 100 meters away, and the natural pools are a ten-minute walk along the beach. Breakfast was generous, including a delicious tapioca, and the guesthouse is comfortable with good facilities. The whole team was great, especially Ana Paula, Virgilio, meu, Ana and Naty. They were helpful and did their best to handle our needs and unexpected issues. I’m very grateful. The only thing missing was a pool at the guesthouse.

Paula welcomed us with a lot of warmth and empathy during our time in Taipu, and the service from her and all the women on staff was very good. The kitchen staff always tried their best to help us. We’ll definitely return, and I’m grateful for everything. I did want to share a few concerns about the guesthouse management. There were lots of flies at breakfast, and compared with another time we stayed, the breakfast felt less generous. Also, while we were eating, the administrator, an attentive older man, was cleaning his dental prosthesis and licking the plates. It was uncomfortable to see, and I don’t think guests want to witness that over breakfast. Just feedback.

We stayed at this guesthouse over Carnival in 2025, and the staff were all welcoming, friendly, and excellent. The atmosphere was peaceful, and our room was wonderful: very clean, fresh-smelling, with comfortable beds, air conditioning, and subscription TV. The location is quiet and just a short distance from the beautiful Praia de Taipu de Fora. I’ll definitely stay here again when I return to Barra Grande.
