Getting there takes a rough road, and you'll need a 4WD with good clearance. It's properly off the grid, which is part of what makes the stay work. Ka Bru 1100 is only around for 1100 nights, and I'm glad we got to spend ours there. There's even a whisper that it might be extended. We stayed at Ka Bru 1100 during a trip through Bahia, and it raised the bar for everything that came after. My girlfriend and I were already falling for the place before we got out of the car. It's a private villa with six suites, adults only, Atlantic on one side and the Cassange lagoon on the other. The beach seems to go on for miles in both directions and was almost empty. We walked there every day after watching sunrise from our bed in the top suite. That suite was beautiful and private, and the organic toiletries were a thoughtful touch. The architecture is clean and minimalist, letting the landscape take the lead. The whole place feels quietly confident, without trying too hard. We hadn't expected the food to be such a highlight. The kitchen team changes the menu often and adjusted it for our Vegan diet, using fresh local ingredients in creative, considered ways. We never felt like going elsewhere for dinner, and didn't. Afternoon cake and coffee by the pool became essential, as did cocktails in the evening. The staff were relaxed, attentive, and genuinely kind. Even asking for something felt more like having a conversation than making a request.

Right beside the river and the beach, the location is wonderful. The staff know guests by name and go out of their way to make the stay memorable. There aren't many dishes to choose from, but the food is delicious and carefully made. Highly recommend it!

We had a great eight-day stay over Christmas. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and relaxing, and the food was good, though we often had the same meals after a while because of the seven-day Christmas all-inclusive package. The hotel is in an amazing spot. It's difficult to reach, but that also makes it feel more isolated and exclusive. Service was the main problem, and other guests said they felt the same. In the mornings, sometimes they brought water and coffee and sometimes they forgot. At lunch and dinner, staff barely asked if we wanted a drink, and a couple of times we waited two hours between starter and main course. Things did improve after we complained. Enjoy your stay!

The water from the shower and sink was muddy, and our room had a leak dripping onto my clothes. The power and water both went out, and with no blackout curtains, the room was already full of light at 5 in the morning. Food was expensive and there were very few choices. I'm allergic to shrimp, and had told them when booking and again at check-in, but the only lunch option they offered was shrimp bobó. They charged R$150,00 for corkage despite not having a good wine list. The new staff seemed lost and couldn't manage to help us. Sadly, I can't recommend this place.
