Pousada Aconchego

The common areas are cozy and have plenty of greenery, and the staff were all helpful and smiling. The location is the main plus. But the room and breakfast were both very poor, and with rates around 400 reais a night, the value just wasn't there. The old window air conditioner had no remote, and the bathroom sink had no support or counter space. The curtains also let in a lot of light. I asked about a late checkout and was able to stay until 3:30 pm, but only by paying a fee. Next door, construction has been going on from 7 am to 5 pm for several months, so at the moment it isn't a place to count on for a quiet, long sleep. The negative points really let the stay down, especially at such a high price.

We stayed here first when we arrived in Maceió, and it was worth it. The rooms are good and the service was good too, but the location is the real standout, with lots of restaurants and things to do on the street. I'd recommend spending more days at Praia do Francês than in the city. During my stay in Jan/2024, construction next door was a bit noisy in the mornings, though it did get us up earlier.

The place itself was perfect and I have no complaints about the environment. But one woman at reception was awful to deal with, unfriendly from the start. On my last day I asked her to sort something out and she said, "That's your problem." She never said good morning, good afternoon, or good evening either. Very rude.

Everything is close by, and the location is perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the pousada was really good. Breakfast was excellent too.
