Pousada Gamarano

We had a terrible experience with our family. After our Booking reservation was canceled on the site, we called the pousada directly. An employee confirmed we could come and said rooms would be reserved for us. But when we arrived, someone on the intercom spoke very rudely and basically turned us away, saying there was no reservation and the pousada was full. Awful service. I would never recommend it.

There was very little variety at breakfast, the parking was cramped, and the mattress was hard. They were stingy with room items too: there was only 1 towel, with a notice saying another would cost extra. The pousada has a very strong Catholic presence, with images of saints all over. As someone who isn't Catholic or normative, I found that somewhat oppressive.

There was a lot of local art in the old hotel, but no moldy or damp smell, which matters a lot to me because I have allergies. The shower and service were excellent, and breakfast was sensational. The room is expensive for one person, though sharing makes it much more worthwhile.
