The food and the team’s care made for a very pleasant stay, though the hotel doesn’t quite live up to the luxury its listing suggests. Some finer touches and parts of the property still need work. Even so, it was a lovely weekend with plenty of rest and good food. The kitchen service was excellent. Everything was made to order with fresh, tasty ingredients. Meals were easy to arrange by WhatsApp: we sent the time and dishes we wanted, and everything was ready and served when we arrived. Breakfast was included and stood out too. Each day brought a different mix of breads and sweets, unlimited coffee, the juice of the day, fresh fruit, plus hot dishes made to order. Getting there takes about 30 minutes on a dirt road, and there’s no internet signal along the way, although Waze kept working. On arrival, the team took our bags, drove us to the room in a golf cart, and welcomed us with two glasses of sparkling wine, a great start. The room we’d originally booked had no internet. That mattered because we had to contact the hotel and request room service over WhatsApp, and there’s no cell signal in the area. The team tried to fix it, but couldn’t, so they moved us temporarily to another room with Wi-Fi for that night. The problem was still there the next day, and they promptly upgraded us to a different category of room and moved all our belongings themselves. The service was exemplary. The local team’s hospitality and care made the experience very enjoyable.
