Pousada Vale das Maritacas

Fine.

Great.

Great.

The room was clean, but during my three-day stay I had to ask for toilet paper and for the bathroom trash to be changed. They handed me a little bag to change it myself. Even without daily room service, I think changing the bin is the least they could do. There was a gap under and along the sides of the door, big enough for a flip-flop, so bugs could get in. We’re in nature, but a room should still feel safe enough to rest peacefully. The place is pretty, but I didn’t feel welcome, apart from sr Valter, who was cheerful and attentive. He was a bright spot, as was the very good breakfast. The owner wasn’t very communicative, and with no menu it was hard to know what was on offer. I had to keep asking, since she didn’t take the initiative. One night we ordered food from outside for four people and got just one plate and one set of cutlery. These may be small things, but they were disappointing, especially since no one else was staying at the inn during those three days, so it wasn’t a lack of time. I’m sharing this as constructive feedback. I wouldn’t return or recommend it.
