Pousada Avenida

The inn is in a great location and the breakfast was decent. But when I entered the room, there was a very strong sewer gas smell coming from the bathroom, which had no natural ventilation or exhaust fan. That suggests old installations without proper maintenance. Instead of trying to fix it, they told me to complain to the city hall because the smell was coming from the sewer system. If the plumbing is in good condition, those gases shouldn't come back into the building. I found that very disrespectful, especially since the fumes can be harmful to health. Plenty of other inns would at least have handled the complaint with more respect.

The location is spectacular, right in the center. We could hear some noise since the rooms are above the owner's restaurant, but it didn't bother us when we slept. There isn't really a reception desk, though everything was explained when we arrived. I liked having a code for the entrance door and a remote for the garage. The breakfast had lots of variety and tasted great, especially the pamonha. There was plenty of parking, and the room looked elegant with its wooden floor, cabinets, door, and charming balcony. We liked everything and thought it was excellent value.

Staying at pousada Avenida was the best choice. The service was friendly, the price was affordable, and the homemade food was delicious. It's centrally located near the tourist spots. Wonderful place, I'd encourage anyone going to Monte Verde to stay there.

We could walk anywhere in the city from this central spot, so there was no need to use the car. The parking area is spacious, and the room and bathroom are both large, with plenty of blankets. Breakfast was wonderful, and the hot chocolate was delicious. I just missed having a fireplace or heater in the room. There was some noise from the restaurant downstairs. Simple but functional, and I'd stay here again.
