Pousada Canto dos Pássaros

We stayed for almost a week and felt right at home. The place is simple, but very clean and cozy, and the staff are really nice and treat you with so much warmth. Breakfast is delicious, too. The pousada is just five minutes from the entrance to Monte Verde.

I stayed at the pousada on November 15, 2024. It was very basic and not cozy. The bedding wasn’t enough for the cold, the bathroom was awful with a very low sink, and the mattress was extremely hard. The worst part was coming back at night to a sewage smell in the room. The access road is dirt and full of potholes, and the pousada is an eight-minute drive from the center of Monte Verde. Breakfast isn’t served in the room, it’s in the house above. The price doesn’t match what’s offered. There was no comfort at all.

I stayed overnight before going on the Tour da Roça. It’s easy to reach and close to town, about 4 km away. The rooms are very clean and organized, and breakfast was wonderful. The place is simple and has no frills. If you want luxury, look in the center and expect to pay five times more!

The location is great, close to the quad bike tours. The chalet is simple but clean and comfortable, and breakfast was very good.
