Pousada Pinho Verde

We spent the weekend at Pousada Pinho Verde. It's a simple, clean place near the center, with easy access to shops and restaurants. Breakfast was delicious, though there wasn't much variety. The location is good. Better lighting in the rooms and some closets to store blankets and suitcases would make the stay more comfortable.

The inn is close to the main avenue. It's simple but cozy, and breakfast was basic but everything tasted good. The indoor pool isn't heated, but my daughter loved it.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the covered pool was a nice feature, though it isn't heated. There's also a pleasant space nearby to hang out, and breakfast was decent. We were close to the town center and a few places of interest, including the chocolate house, the handmade soap factory, and Vila Leta on the same street. For me, it was good value, and the stay was simple but good.

The location wasn't quite as close as suggested, and the street is in poor condition. That's not the inn's fault, though there are plenty of other inns on the same street. During the four days we were there, we were the only guests, which seemed odd for a place with around 20 chalets. Some details, like the extra charge for the fireplace, were only shared after we'd paid the 50% deposit. Firewood cost R$20, and the pool was another R$100 per person. Since cold weather is such a big part of tourism in Monte Verde, paying extra for firewood felt strange, especially as neither the chalet nor fireplace is large. On the second day, breakfast had food for only two people. Sra. Railda was surprised to see us and said she'd been told there were only two guests. Breakfast was also very different from what the website showed: there wasn't much choice, the cakes looked old and had already been cut, and the juice tasted like powder mix. We had to get help with the TV because of a problem with the remote control, not the TV itself. The staff were friendly and willing to help despite having few resources, and the chalet was clean, though there was a puddle between the bed and mini fridge. There were real problems with upkeep inside. The bedding was old and a towel was torn, so we had to ask for replacements. The receptionist said it would be difficult to find towels in good condition. The single bed was improvised, had no sheet to cover it, and was placed under a shelf with the head right beneath it, which felt risky. The lighting was so dim it was hard to see even during the day, especially inside the wardrobe. There wasn't a single hanger or anywhere to open a suitcase, and the chalet isn't suitable for three people. This was my first stay, and I didn't enjoy it.
