Recanto dos Fernandes

We found this a welcoming, practical place with good value. It’s like a simple, functional studio, on a quiet street just behind the main road with its shops, bakeries, and little stores. There’s parking inside, and everything was clean, tidy, and well looked after. The room has a fireplace, a table, and utensils for making coffee or a snack. There’s also a utility sink out back that comes in handy if you need to wash something. Wi-Fi worked well, and service is available around the clock. The person who greeted us was warm and attentive, with that friendly Minas Gerais way about them. The main thing missing is breakfast. The only two bakeries recommended in town take Pix or cash only, which was a real hassle. If breakfast were served here, it would be perfect.

The bed was soft, and the place was clean and quiet. I just wished there were a minibar, and there was nothing to eat.

We arrived in town without a hotel booking and were lucky to find this place. Sra Tatiana welcomed us right away and kindly put together a list of restaurants, bakeries, and a few sights in Monte Verde. The room was cozy and very clean, with a fireplace, minibar, and a full set of bed and bath linens. We had a really good stay.

Tatiane made a big difference from the moment we arrived. She was caring, helpful, and explained everything about the place. The Recanto Dos Fernandes is simple but very cozy, well kept, clean, and in a good location. We had an excellent time in Monte Verde, and I’ll definitely come back.
