My sister-in-law told me about the place, including a few things I liked, so I booked. Breakfast served in the room was one reason I chose it, but when I arrived I was told that service had stopped. They said I could have mentioned it beforehand. I’d also asked the owner for a romantic setup like the one shown on Instagram. There were only a few artificial rose petals on the bed, barely noticeable, not the more elaborate arrangement I expected. My sister-in-law had said firewood for the fireplace was complimentary, but I was charged for a bag. The mountain views I’d seen on Instagram weren’t there from our room, which faced the road, with trees blocking the view. Breakfast was served in an open hall that was very cold. It wasn’t anything special, just coffee, cakes, and yogurt. On the last day, as we were leaving, a delicious pudding appeared, but there was no pão de queijo. The room’s slate floor made it even colder. A carpet would have made it cozier. My positive expectations weren’t met. I won’t return or recommend it.

We had a really good stay. The breakfast was complete and the rooms were very nice. I’d suggest a suite with a two-person tub: the water gets nice and hot, and it’s comfortable. There were plenty of blankets on the bed, so we didn’t get cold. The rooms have fireplaces too, as well as an electric heater. It worked, but didn’t warm the room as much as I’d expected. The upstairs suites have a beautiful mountain view, though you’ll need to climb the stairs, haha. I recommend the place.

For a stay with a hot tub, this is the best value I’ve found. The guesthouse is charming, clean, and has a fireplace. Breakfast was excellent for a guesthouse, though of course it can’t match a large hotel’s setup. Service was good, even with only two staff members. It’s a bit farther out, and I felt unsure about the location when I arrived at 10 p.m. After a couple of trips to and from the town center, though, it felt easy and peaceful. I’ll definitely come back.

I didn’t know in advance that I’d be staying here, so I had no idea what the route or guesthouse would be like. We’d been told check-in was until 11 p.m. Our trip ran late and we arrived at 1 a.m., thinking we might have to sleep in the open parking area. But when we buzzed at the reception door, Eliete answered, welcomed us warmly despite the hour, and showed us to our room. That first night, arriving so late in town, the dirt road made the approach feel pretty run-down. The next day I realized that’s normal here. Lots of charming places are on dirt roads with open parking, and it was all quite peaceful. The room seemed old and a bit shabby at first, perhaps because the decor is simple and dated. The bathroom was more modern and very clean, and the bedding was clean and comfortable too. At my husband’s request, they’d set up a romantic decoration. The next morning won me over with breakfast. There was plenty to choose from, but above all, it was delicious and very much in the Minas Gerais style. It came in a basket, which I loved. It felt romantic and different from the usual kind of accommodation. We ate in bed one day, then took it outside the room another morning and enjoyed the view. That breakfast is part of the experience. The fireplace was also great. It may not look pretty, but it works perfectly and makes the room pleasantly warm. The weak points were the mattress, the lack of furniture for storing luggage, the decor, and the stairs, which had no handrail or lighting. I didn’t use the bathtub because of the water’s color. I know hospitality these days often promotes not having a hot tub, so I was okay with that. The strongest points were the exceptional service, with everyone so willing to help and kind, the breakfast, the fireplace, the pleasant nature and garden views, and the whole rustic feel. I loved it. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Would I return? Yes for the good parts, though I like trying new places, so I’d probably stay one night to revisit and then try another guesthouse. It’s worth a stay.
