The hotel is almost in the city centre, and they’re renovating the place. One drawback is that some rooms sit right over a gas station, so you can smell the fumes at night.

The room was nice, with a comfortable king-size bed, and the price was reasonable. The service was excellent, though the staff I met spoke very little English. The on-site restaurant is just adequate, with very few dinner choices. Good restaurants aren’t within walking distance, so you’ll need a taxi.

The food was a real surprise. The restaurant and chefs are from Favoritto, said to be the best place to eat in town, and the meal was excellent. Prices are good compared with Belo Horizonte, the state capital. I’d confidently call this the best hotel in town and one of the best I’ve stayed at. The beds are large and comfortable. Mine was two single beds pushed together, and they worked surprisingly well. The parking entrance is very narrow but manageable, so be careful driving in. I’d definitely recommend the place.

The reception staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the room was clean. Keep your receipts, though, since the hotel has trouble keeping track of the laundry. There isn’t really a bar.
