Bahia Tambor

The location of Pousada Bahia Tambor is hard to beat. It’s right in the middle of everything and only a few meters from the beach. The rooftop pool looks just like the photos, maybe even better. It’s more for lounging than swimming, and having drinks brought right to the pool is a nice touch. The rooms were clean and nice at first, but toward the end of our stay ours developed an unpleasant sewage-like smell. Breakfast was the worst part. It was among the worst hotel breakfasts I’ve had: the food tasted average, the ingredients seemed cheap, and it was just OK given the beautiful setting. Service was very good overall, but the pool bar needed another person. One staff member was running between the kitchen, beach and bar, and adding someone else would make service much more efficient. Check-in and the reception were also disappointing. The reception area is too small and looks cheap, making an average first impression. One staff member was juggling too many tasks, which hurt check-in and the service. Management doesn’t seem to prioritize the guest experience enough. With some fixes to staffing, room maintenance and breakfast, the stay could be much better.

Sara especially impressed us. Her English is perfect, and she was so helpful. Everyone was fabulous, and the service was great. The rooms are big and nice, the location is perfect, and the pool has an amazing view.

Service was OK. The location right on the beach is amazing, and the rooms are new, clean, big and well designed. Just don’t take a ground-floor room, it’s extremely noisy. Around the pool, everyone seemed to have their own music playing, like a kindergarten, so relaxing was impossible.

The rooms are adequate, about four-star level, and the location is top-tier, right in front of the 2nd beach. Check-in could be much better. The process was long, convoluted and unnecessarily complicated, with lots of repeated information. Once it’s over, you can ignore most of their suggestions and enjoy the place and beach :)
