Manero Hostel

I stayed at this hostel for almost two weeks and would give it 5/5 across the board. The dorm was roomy, everything was clean, and the mattress was comfortable. Breakfast was great value for the price. The common areas were spacious too, especially the terrace with its hammocks. I’d happily recommend the place!

The place itself was comfortable and spotlessly clean, with a woman coming in every day to clean and leave everything fresh-smelling. I liked it and would recommend it for the cleanliness alone. Still, I was disappointed by a few things. Guests in other rooms woke me at 5 a.m. with shouting, laughter, and noise. Some people leave for tours at 6 a.m. without making a racket in their rooms, but these guests were loud outside, and nobody seemed to warn or reprimand them. I reported the disturbance to reception and never heard back. I was also given used bedding taken from another roommate, and a used towel. Breakfast wasn’t included, so I paid for it. Decolar didn’t offer me a room-plus-breakfast option. I also don’t recommend Decolar because I heard they sell cheaper packages without the property knowing. That creates an uncomfortable situation for the guest, who gets told, “You paid less, so that’s how it is.” If they don’t want to embarrass guests that way, they shouldn’t partner with Decolar.

I stayed for a weekend in October and spent most of the time alone in the female shared room. The hostel was clean and pleasant, and the owners were friendly and respectful, so I’d definitely recommend it. Breakfast was delicious too. You can walk to lots of nearby places, including bars, restaurants, and açaí spots.

I was nervous since I’d never stayed in a hostel before, but everyone at Hostel Manero made me feel welcome right away. It turned out much better than I expected, and I’ve definitely made it my go-to place in Natal. The beach is an easy walk away, and there are plenty of bakeries, bars, and restaurants nearby. The area also felt very safe. Breakfast was delicious, with tapioca, cuscuz, cassava cream, fruit, juice, cake, and everything prepared so well. Thanks so much for everything!
