We liked the ocean and dune views, and the setting is quieter and more laid back because it’s away from the main tourist areas. There’s a bus stop right next to the hotel, though getting to Ponta Negra and its attractions on foot isn’t practical. The beach access is beautiful, but strong waves and jagged rocks make swimming difficult. Mirai Beach Hotel is an older place with basic rooms that smelled and could use an update. It was a cheaper option for the area, so we felt we got what we paid for. Parking costs $20 reais per day. There are hotels in the tourist areas with better rooms, breakfasts, free covered parking, and beaches that are more inviting, and I’d recommend those over this one. Still, it’s good value if you want simple accommodations, a great view, and don’t mind a short drive to the action.

We only stopped here between parts of our trip, arriving in the middle of the night and leaving in the morning. The air conditioning worked well, the rooms were spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The room was quite bright, though, and there was a cockroach in the bathroom in the morning. No one from the hotel helped with our bags. We didn’t like the breakfast and thought it was pretty bad. The leisure area looked pleasant, but we didn’t get a chance to use it.
