The staff were the best, extremely friendly and helpful, and our balcony was great, with a nice view of the pool and sea. The place is nice, but the room could use some repairs. We were in room 201. The socket on the right side of the bed was broken, the toilet flush button had broken off though it still worked, and the desk laminate was peeling. There was only one small, dim light working, and we couldn’t figure out whether the light by the fan worked or how to turn it on. None of it was major, but all of it needs fixing.

The room is cozy and clean, and the staff are helpful and available around the clock. Breakfast is good too. Pousada Castanheira is in a convenient spot, one block from Ponta Negra Beach. There isn’t a restaurant at the inn.

The location is excellent, close to the Center and just steps from Praia de Ponta Negra, which is literally on the next street down. When we went to the Center, an Uber never cost more than R$10,00. The shower and air conditioning in the room were really powerful and made things comfortable. Fernanda and Adriana deserve a special mention. They were so attentive, helpful, and friendly, and made a real difference to our stay. The breakfast is simple but complete and served generously, and the tapiocas have a special touch that makes them even tastier. It was a very pleasant stay. The pousada is simple, cozy, and comfortable. I was very satisfied and felt lucky to have had the experience. I’d definitely stay again. It was a great choice!
