Pousada Anexo

That stay was frightening, and I regretted booking it. The owner was very rude, and the security felt nonexistent. There were odd passageways and doors in the room that guests couldn't use. In the room I had, a wardrobe was hiding a steel door, and I was so scared I couldn't sleep. The windows had holes, the bathrooms smelled awful, and breakfast was incomplete. The whole house had a really heavy feeling. Thank God nothing happened, though it could have. I wouldn't recommend this hostel. Stay somewhere else.

The bedding was old, dusty, and smelled of mold, and the place itself had a musty smell. The staff did their best with the cleaning and were polite, including the man on night reception, but the building's condition didn't help. We also saw how rudely the owners treated their own employees. The booking became a mess too. I reserved through booking on Wednesday and the card went through. On Sunday, while we were on our way to the guesthouse, I got a message saying it hadn't. The card was fine, so I ran it through booking again before arriving. At reception, the woman wanted me to pay again there. I explained I'd just paid online and asked her to refresh the page, since my app showed it as approved. She handed me the phone to speak to the owner, who yelled that he'd cancel the reservation unless I paid again, then hung up while I was trying to explain that this would charge me twice. It was humiliating and unbelievably unprofessional. I was nearly in tears and started to leave, but stayed because I had an appointment in two hours and no time to find another place. My husband paid with his card, and I canceled mine on booking. I deeply regret staying. I've stayed in plenty of places and usually leave good reviews because I want them to do well, but I can't bring myself to do that here. Zero stars.

I booked a room so my wife and I could rest before work the next day. We ran into a serious problem during the stay, though I managed to sort it out. I hope the owners take my complaint seriously and pay attention to the beds and the support available overnight.

The owner was rude, and there's no room service. The room smelled bad, the bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly, and the sheets were dingy. The only window faced the corridor, which didn't feel safe, and the phone rings loudly. I'm here wondering if I'll even be able to sleep, never mind what breakfast will be like.
