2/10
The location of Hostel Limão Doce is hard to beat, right in the heart of the neighborhood and close to the bars. The guesthouse itself is also very nice. But the host made the stay uncomfortable by being extremely controlling, with little room for flexibility or discussion and a strong focus on enforcing his rules. I was only 10 minutes late leaving on checkout day when he came to the door in a very unpleasant way to demand that we leave. It showed just how inflexible he is. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it. It feels like the place might only suit a religious service, and even then everything would have to be completely silent or he'd threaten to show up at the door. I definitely won't be back.

We had an emergency involving our one-year-old daughter and called for help. When someone arrived, Pablo came downstairs, apparently after seeing them on the cameras, and sent away everyone who was there to help because visitors weren't allowed. He was rude and aggressive throughout. Pablo isn't welcoming at all and watches guests around the clock on the cameras. Once the booking is confirmed, he sends two pages of rules. Look for somewhere else!

Great value, with a good-sized room and a very nice bathroom. The service speaks for itself, and it's close to the Cônego neighborhood's food district. Easy to get to, but tucked away too. Highly recommend!!!

We were charmed by the place. The bed was really comfortable, and the kitchen area had all the appliances and utensils we needed, which made things easier for us. It's a pleasant, cozy spot for relaxing and spending time with family. The service was excellent, and everything was very clean and organized.

The rooms were clean and the accommodation was great. The host was also very helpful, with excellent service. The location is described accurately in the Booking listing, so I think the reviews criticizing it are unfair.
