There were 485 steps to reach the suite, with mud all around. Two stars only because breakfast was the one good part. The rooms weren’t well ventilated, the fan was noisy, and there was an unbearable smell of burnt wood inside the room. We asked for two towels and got two cotton bath mats instead. I’ve had plenty of awful stays, but this place was the teacher of them all. To be truly bad, they’d have to start over, including the construction, because there’s still a lot of room for improvement.

The stay was deeply disappointing, with little care or respect for what had been agreed. We had chosen a specific room over WhatsApp, but when we arrived they put us in a completely different one. Getting to it involved more than 80 steps, which we hadn’t been told about beforehand. The toilet was dirty, and there wasn’t even a full-length mirror in the room. I wouldn’t return or recommend it to friends.

The room was dirty, the mattress smelled moldy and had a nail in it, and the outdoor area was filthy. The pool looked so bad I didn’t even go in. Only our room ran out of water, and we waited three hours for it to come back so we could leave. The breakfast food looked old too. The owners tried to mislead guests with false humility, even though they know how awful the place is. I only went because it was the sole option over the New Year holiday. Never again.

The suite my husband and I chose looked dirty, and the minibar was empty with nothing to consume. The room smelled bad, and the whirlpool had stagnant water left in it and peeling surfaces. It wasn’t fit to stay in, so we asked for our money back and left. The pousada felt abandoned. There was only one employee working on Sunday, and I didn’t see anyone cleaning or working. I don’t recommend it.

The outdoor areas look as though they’ve gone without maintenance for years. There was slime on the stairs, a broken, rusty handrail I couldn’t safely hold, and stair edges were broken, making a fall seem possible. Inside, the bathroom curtains were moldy, the hydro tub was badly worn, and the sauna wouldn’t heat up. The bathroom smelled awful, like sewage, so I washed it with shampoo. When I asked for a floor cloth and disinfectant, they sent me a link that didn’t work. The staff showed no hospitality at all, which is hard to understand for a well-located inn. The breakfast looked nice in the Instagram post, but that was about it. I stayed in October 2025 and had a bad experience. Maybe I was unlucky, or maybe this really is a poor choice for a restful break. I wouldn’t recommend it.
