Pousada Porto do Sol

The pool is good and well looked after, and the owner, the bar guy and the woman handling the pantry and cleaning were attentive. The place has plenty of potential, but it needs maintenance. Rooms near the pool are newer than those by the entrance. One room on the left smelled moldy, and some have old air conditioners that make the usual noise. One unit had a drain leak that let water into the room. There was also a jammed shower stall, a shower that gave electric shocks and had another problem, and a broken wardrobe with doors that came loose. Breakfast was very basic and didn’t match the Instagram photos. Restaurant service didn’t seem to be available, and the beachside kiosk area also looked inactive, even though the inn is right on the beach. It’s about 5 km from central Nova Viçosa. These are meant as constructive points, since fixing those details could make the experience much better.

We arrived as guests and left feeling we’d made friends. The owners were attentive and always ready to help with any need, and Daniel made excellent drinks and was very kind. Breakfast was simple, but that didn’t take away from the quality of the inn. It’s peaceful, family-friendly and quiet enough to hear nature, which helped us relax. Being right on the beach and having a great pool area were a real plus. We’d definitely like to come back.

The staff were helpful, everything was spotless, and the beach was beautiful and peaceful. It’s right by the sea and just the place to unwind and get away from the busy city.

It’s a good place, right on the beach, with bungalows and a clean pool. The attendants were attentive, though the property could use some repairs.
