The restaurant portions can be almost too generous, and the food there is delicious. Breakfast was sensational too. On excursions booked through the resort, they brought treats and refreshments, even a towel for a longer trip. The employees were wonderful, and leaving after such a magical stay was really hard.

We were expecting four bunks and ended up with a comfortable double bed, which was a lovely surprise. The room was spacious, with great A/C, a balcony, and a hot shower, and the pool was refreshing. Maristela, Iara, and Lorena, along with the owners and staff, were so helpful and made us feel at home. There was wildlife all around the property, including tarantulas, frogs, monkeys, toucans, hummingbirds, and parrots. Meals were included for breakfast, and they also offered lunch and dinner. The food was great with a good range of choices, and we enjoyed plenty of beer and caipirinhas. Incredible lodge and amazing value, it exceeded our expectations.

I only visited as part of Amazonia Expeditions, rather than staying overnight. The shared area was lovely and well kept. The place is known for its pink toed tarantulas, which are totally harmless.

Getting into Novo Airão from the hotel is the main drawback. It’s outside the center, and each trip averages 30 to 40 BRL. The rooms have a minimalist feel and are simple, clean, and welcoming. Bathrooms are very small, but have the equipment you need, and the balconies look out over the forest. There’s air conditioning, a minibar, good WiFi, and a TV with lots of channels. A TV in the Amazon might seem unnecessary, but people have different preferences. The facilities are basic yet cover travelers’ essential needs. Food is pleasant, though a little expensive. Breakfast is simple, with plenty of variety and good quality. The price feels slightly high for what’s offered, but not excessive, and service is friendly, courteous, and efficient.
