I fell in love with Stolz’s laid-back feel on my first visit in 2006. It’s simple and authentic, but super clean, and feels like having your own little hut in a tropical jungle. At the same time, the restaurants and bars of Guarda and its unique beach are just steps away. The staff are always happy to help, and I feel like they’ve got my back. This place has a soul. And all that fruit at breakfast! I’ve returned three more times and plan to come back as soon as travel restrictions ease. Can’t wait to see you again, Stolz!

The service was excellent, and both the bed and the studio chalet space were quite comfortable. However, the shower didn’t heat the water properly, and there was leftover debris from previous guests, suggesting the cleaning hadn’t been done well.

The heated pool and leafy surroundings were lovely, and it’s close to both the beach and the center. The owners and team were so attentive, and breakfast was fantastic. We had a sensational stay and definitely plan to come back.
