We stayed in room 10 last year and had the same problems again this time. It doesn’t seem like any maintenance improvements were made. The toilet clogged last year too, even with just a pee, and the shower drain was blocked so the water wouldn’t go down. Our room is above reception, so we could hear every noise. The man at the front desk smoked there, and the smell came straight into our room. My father had to complain before he understood it was bothering us. We also couldn’t get the air conditioning temperature changed. We messaged reception on WhatsApp and I’m still waiting for a reply. Last year breakfast was wonderful. This year it was very basic. My father spoke to the owner about the issues, and the owner said there was no availability. That was understandable, but nobody offered help with the problems. He just said, “feel free,” basically telling us we could leave. We’d just checked out early because staying there had become impossible. We won’t return or recommend this pousada. Sometimes paying a little more for comfort is better than paying less and dealing with all this.
