Casa Da Lapa

It was fine for what I wanted, which was an affordable place rather than anything luxurious. The location downtown made getting there easy, and the price felt acceptable for that. The air conditioning worked well, and after 23:00 it got quiet, with hardly any noise. The cleaning was a letdown, though: the blanket didn't look very clean. Also, the entrance gate was quite loud, and I could hear people coming and going all night.

It's a simple place, but the owners are very attentive. The location inside the historic centre is excellent, with everything close by. I'd definitely recommend it!

What a frustrating disappointment. The photos in the listing do NOT match the place. Be careful if you're considering this inn. The rooms had mold and damp on the walls, stained mattresses and sheets, and dingy towels. There were cables hanging from the bathroom ceilings, the windows wouldn't close all the way, and the ceiling fans looked like they might fall on us at any moment. We tried reaching the person in charge and asked for a refund given the conditions, but he was unavailable and indifferent. We had to leave and find somewhere else because this Casa da Lapa didn't meet even basic standards for a stay. A really disillusioning experience.

The place was poorly maintained and unhealthy, nothing like the listing photos: mold and damp on the walls, stained sheets and mattresses, dingy towels, windows that wouldn't close properly, and ceiling fans wobbling dangerously. One guest became unwell because of the mold and poor ventilation, which was especially worrying for anyone with breathing problems. A frustrating and disrespectful experience. Take extra care if you're considering this place, since it doesn't come close to what is promised online.
