Pousada Conchas de Paraty

The breakfast was fantastic, and they let us check out a little later. Everyone at Conchas was really nice, and you could choose how many eggs you wanted. We ended up staying here after the nearby hostel we had booked turned out to be awful. This little Pousada was great value, and we'd stay again.

We stayed from 20/12 /25 to 24/12/25, after booking a Superior Standard room with a balcony. At check-in they couldn't find my reservation, and after some time they put us in a ground-floor room facing the pool. I told reception it wasn't the room we'd booked and that it cost less than what I'd paid. They said the person who could sort it out would be there the next day. When I spoke to him, he said the room we'd reserved was occupied and there was nothing he could do. I explained that we'd paid more for our booking, and also told him the pillows smelled of sweat and strong perfume, while the door to the pool was broken and wouldn't lock. He said he'd take care of it and could refund the difference. When we came back at the end of the day, the door was still broken. They'd only changed the pillowcases, and the sweaty smell remained. I tried again to discuss the room problems and the refund, but staff kept telling me to speak to the same person who handled the reservation. He never came back to the Pousada before my check-out, and everyone brushed off my complaint by saying only he could resolve it. I left without a solution or the price difference, and felt they treated me dismissively, as if I were the one at fault. I just wanted my consumer rights respected. I kept my side of the agreement and am still paying for this stay. I also complained on the site where I booked, but they didn't pay attention to me there either. Years ago, my family and I stayed here several times without any problems, probably under different management. Back then everything was impeccable, the breakfast was excellent, and the welcome was exceptional. This time the upkeep of the Pousada overall, the breakfast compared with what they used to offer, room cleaning, bed linen and pillows all fell short. I don't recommend it and won't stay here again.

Everything about our stay was perfect, from the room facilities to breakfast. The breakfast ladies were so sweet. I loved meeting Iago, who was very attentive, and Rita, Kátia, and Flávio were all 1000 out of 1000 too. Regards, Guests in room 3

The place is simple but well cared for, and it felt cozy, clean, and airy. Reception was very cordial both on WhatsApp and in person. Breakfast was straightforward, fresh, and tasty. It's very close to the historic center and offers great value. I'd definitely recommend it 😊
