The building feels very old, and the windows looked onto an interior area or a corridor with plumbing. Breakfast runs until 10, but when we came down at 8:50, more than half the food was already gone. The dining room was very dirty. Our room was beside the staff office, where there was a lot of noise in the morning. We asked them to stop shouting, but they ignored us.

Everyone on the team treated us really well, and breakfast was simple but always fresh with regular refills. We also found parking each day at the gas station across the street, even though the inn has no parking. The walk to the historic center was manageable, and we went every day. The room itself wasn’t very comfortable. Ours faced the avenue, where the traffic was already a nuisance at 6:30 in the morning, with cars, motorcycles, buses, garbage trucks, and heavy traffic throughout the day. It was very hot, and the room only had a small fan because the ceiling fan barely turned. We sometimes had to leave the balcony door open, but the noise could get so loud we couldn’t hear each other talk. The bathroom needs a floor mat: even with the shower curtain, water got onto the bathroom floor and then the bedroom floor.

The only good part of the inn was reception. The staff there were friendly and attentive. The rest was very poor. Breakfast had no variety and wasn’t replenished, so we had to eat out every day. The bed had a child-sized sheet on it, the TV was outdated, and there were no towels or minibar, even though we’d been told there would be one when we booked. The air conditioner dripped onto the bed, and the bedding smelled musty. When it rained, water got onto the stairs and corridors. We’d been allowed to shower after check-out when we asked at booking, but when we handed in the keys, we were told there was no water.
