Pousada Solar da Serra

The women who keep things organized were really friendly, and Leandro, the owner, was great and gave us tips on what to do. It’s 8-10 minutes from the center and close to several waterfalls. My two friends and I stayed from 28/12 to 02/01 and loved it. Breakfast was simple, with everything fresh, and the pineapple cake was wonderful. I highly recommend it.

There were quite a few small issues, but given the price, we’d come back. Our mini-fridge didn’t work, one bedside lamp wouldn’t turn on, and although the shower was good, it wasn’t strong enough on very cold days. They didn’t provide shampoo. The Wi-Fi initially didn’t reach the rooms, but that was fixed. At first we were given a poor room, then moved to a better one. Breakfast was weak, with few options. The biggest concern was that the housekeeper left our room key in the door while we were out. Anyone there could have gone in and touched our things, which was a security failure. There’s also no mobile internet signal from any carrier at the guesthouse.

The air conditioning worked really well, and breakfast was simple but tasty. Leandro was very pleasant and welcoming. Still, maybe we just had bad luck, despite the good reviews. Our room smelled musty, the shower handle was loose, and the mini-fridge was switched off and had mold spots. The cleaning could have been better too. Since ours was the last room, Wi-Fi didn’t work inside, and we had to go out to the common area to get a signal.

The neighborhood was very quiet and good for resting. The guesthouse is about a 15-minute drive from Paraty center. It has a rustic style, and the dining room is lovely. The pool was clean, and my children got to enjoy it. Everything was clean, well kept, and organized. Suelen welcomed us and was so friendly and polite. Our room was clean, the beds, blankets, and towels smelled nice, and the air conditioning worked well. We loved breakfast, with everything fresh and tasty. Thanks to Leandro for the warm welcome. I’ll definitely return.
