Pouso do Sopé

We were made to feel so welcome by Gisele, dona Damaris, and her husband, they’re lovely people. The pousada is cozy, spotless, and well organized, and breakfast was delicious. We had a wonderful stay and recommend it!

We felt right at home here, and the price was fair. Everything was great, from the rooms to the outdoor space filled with Sr Juvenal’s art. Breakfast, made by Sra Damaris, came with lovely music playing on vinyl, and Gisele’s warm welcome and good conversation really made the stay special. Congratulations to everyone.

Jabaquara Beach is close by, and the historic center is nearby too. Trindade and Paraty Mirim take around 30-40 minutes by car; the route is so beautiful it makes the drive feel shorter. We had an incredible, welcoming stay and will definitely return. The inspiring artwork by Sr Juvenal was a real highlight. He’s such a charming artist, and his wife and daughters were lovely too. Gisele was especially attentive.

We stayed for two days as a group of four. The room was spacious, basic, and just comfortable enough, though the bathroom was tiny. There’s no air conditioning. The best part was the hospitality: our host welcomed us warmly and gave us tips for enjoying local events. Breakfast was ordinary but tasty, and the value for money was great. The pousada is small, with about six rooms. The owner has a painting studio right by the sidewalk, and the guest rooms are in a building at the back, beside the main house. The pleasant yard and sweet breakfast area are decorated with the owner’s very talented artwork. We loved several pieces. It’s about five minutes from the historic center, close enough to get there easily but far enough from the bustle. That could be inconvenient without a car. The access road is dirt, which gives the place a country feel.
