Breakfast was good, the staff were friendly, and the swimming pool was great. The room was clean and freshly painted. But part of the hotel is down a dirt road that turns to mud when it rains. It’s awful having to rinse your legs and flip-flops every time you go back to your room. You really don’t want to wear shoes there. The rooms felt more like a motel than a hotel. This place costs twice as much as hotels in Rio and Sao and isn’t as good, so trudging through mud is a real letdown. And you won’t need an alarm. The neighbors’ rooster starts at 04.00 am and keeps going for hours.

The pool was nice, and we saw little monkeys eating nearby. We asked the staff for a banana and got to feed them. The customer service was 10/10 :) Breakfast had a decent view, and there’s a game room with foosball and a pool table. It’s about a 5-minute drive to the center or a 15-20 minute walk, and the location is good. A few things bothered us: the water pressure, tiny bugs crawling around the bathroom and bed, lights that flickered all night, and windows that weren’t clear and let in all the daylight. It’s a little pricey, and for what two nights cost here, you could get a fancier hotel in Copacabana in rio.
