Hostel Pousada Casa da Praia

The owners made us feel welcome right away and were always kind, helpful, and available. The place is quiet, feels safe, and has a relaxed family atmosphere. We found the common areas cozy and nicely decorated, with care showing in the little details. Our suite was modern, comfortable, and well organized, with air conditioning that cooled properly. Everything was clean and looked after every day, including the shared spaces. The beach is just two blocks away, so it’s an easy walk. For the comfort, location, and quality, the price felt very fair. We had a lovely stay from beginning to end and plan to return.

We had a very upsetting experience. The rooms have no windows, just a small bathroom window in the shower area and the door for ventilation. When it rained hard, we had to keep the door shut to stop the rain coming in, which meant sitting in the heat without air conditioning. We were also quoted different prices depending on whether air conditioning was included. The ramp is very steep, making it impossible for older or disabled people to get up. My elderly father was made to leave the guesthouse after the owner said we had broken the rules of a contract, even though we had no contract and had already paid in advance. The owner said the nightly charges would be refunded, but we received less, and only after saying we would contact our lawyer. I asked for copies of the contract, the CNPJ, and the operating permit, but got nothing. There were also two bathrooms in the communal kitchen, but they were locked and unavailable. A misunderstanding was handled very badly. The people in charge seemed unprepared, unreasonable, and rude. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The owner is quick to reply, attentive, and helpful. Our room was very clean, and the shared kitchen was well organized. The area is quiet, and at night we could hear the waves because the guesthouse is so close to the beach.
