Hotel Rochedo

The location was good and breakfast was excellent, but the service was very inflexible. We arrived on Friday when several rooms were still available. They put my wife and me in room 215, which had no window, ventilation, or airflow. I have claustrophobia and told them right away, but they ignored me and only said there were no other rooms available. The next day, after breakfast, I saw some rooms being vacated and asked at reception again. They said no again. I spent most of my time either medicated or outside the hotel because the room was terrible. I called it a mausoleum. I hope they improve how they handle guests.

We loved our stay, the breakfast, and the restaurant dinner was absolutely perfect! The check-in explanation could have been better, though. There was no reception number or Wi-Fi password in the room, and neither was explained when we arrived. We had to go back down and ask for both, which got a bit tiring since there were so many of us.

The location is pretty good, close to the center though not right in it. But the stay itself was a real letdown. They present the hotel as new, yet only the outside and reception really looked recent. My room was in awful shape and seemed like it hadn't had a proper clean in ages. There were cobwebs in the bathroom, the towel was dirty and stained so I asked for another, and that one was the same. The sheet was torn, and the pillows were so bad that two together still weren't enough. Luckily, I had a clean beach towel in my bag. The hotel was noisy, too, and they put me next to a room under renovation without telling me. I checked in hoping to rest after the trip, but couldn't. There was so much noise that my husband went over to see what was going on, and only then found out they were doing construction. We couldn't rest and ended up leaving that night earlier than planned. The hotel is clearly being renovated, and they should say so when people book. Breakfast had a selection of breads and cakes, so it was reasonable if you like those. Otherwise, the experience was very poor. I booked directly through the hotel's website and expected something better. I wouldn't return or recommend it.

The bathroom leaked, and the pool visit was cut short when they switched on the generator beside it, with its exhaust pointed toward the pool area. We had to leave so the fumes wouldn't affect the children. I stayed here with my wife and our two young daughters in December 2025. The breakfast was good, the beds were comfortable, and the indoor parking was good. The location is a little far from the shops.
