Fantastic.

Really good.

We were staying in the Deluxe Room with the double hydromassage tub, the best room the inn had, though the tub really only fits two slim people. It’s a simple place, but the tub for two is a nice extra. The inn is lovely both inside and out, and breakfast was great. We only stayed one night and liked it overall. Mr. Paulo was understanding when we arrived for breakfast at 10:30, right at the end of the 8:30 to 10:30 window, after sleeping late following a night out in Penedo. We were the last guests to eat, but he welcomed us and said it was no problem. His kindness and the owner’s good conversation throughout our stay are why I’m giving five stars. There were a few things that could be improved: a spiderweb on the ceiling, a wet top on the minibar, probably from the air conditioner above it, and no iron or other basic travel items. The inn is in a green area, so there were a few small moths and other bugs in the room. They didn’t bother me, but I’d rather they weren’t there. It’s about a 12-minute drive from Penedo’s shopping and restaurant area. Prices seem lower than most competitors, so it could suit someone on a tight budget, depending on the rate. You need to be easygoing about little things that might annoy someone less patient. For parking, I’d use the inn’s own pull-off just before the entrance. Parking inside is quite tight. Max made a real difference during our stay. He was patient, warm, and attentive, and helped with everything we needed. Even though we had to check out before 6 a.m., he was there to assist us kindly. The inn itself is charming, with thoughtful decor throughout, a games room, gardens, a small wooded area with little streams, benches, hammocks, and parking. It was very quiet and private, a lovely place to rest. Breakfast was wonderful, with lots of choices, fresh juices, and beautifully set tables. We loved staying here and would gladly come back to enjoy more of the inn and the area.
