A comfortable, safe place with a family atmosphere. The location is excellent, and it’s the most comfortable guesthouse in the Penha area.

We slept really well, and I have nothing but praise. The guesthouse was clean and organized, with a warm shower and an airy room with a double bed, two single beds and a lovely beach view. There’s also a heated pool in the leisure area. Seu Paulo was a wonderful, welcoming host and gave us several tips on places and restaurants. Breakfast was outsourced and cost extra, but the basket was lovely and full of treats. We’ll definitely be back.

The owner is friendly, helpful and full of good tips. The rooms for four have a small kitchen where you can make your own dishes with local ingredients. There’s a pool, and the beach is very close. In July, it’s the patron saint’s birthday, São João Baptista, and there was a really nice party at the church. I highly recommend this guesthouse.

We stayed as a couple for a weekend, arriving on 21/07. The room fridge wasn’t working, and after waiting for someone responsible at the property to respond, I was told to use the fridge in the shared barbecue area. It had other people’s things in it, which made things awkward right away. Back in the room, the TV had sound but no picture, so that was another disappointment. We reported both problems at checkout. Two days later, someone who hadn’t been there during our stay contacted me and said I’d used things incorrectly: I should have plugged in the fridge, even though it had been plugged in all night in case it started working, and the TV did have a picture, with only the sound turned down. Since I’d initially been told the TV had sound but no picture, I was treated as if I were lying. The whole experience left me frustrated and very uncomfortable. I wouldn’t recommend the place. The service wasn’t good, and even when you report problems carefully, they treat you like a liar.
