Pousada Vo Lete

Great.

There were several positives: the location, breakfast, parking, nightly rate, and general cleanliness. The owner was very friendly, but her husband didn’t even manage to say good afternoon to the guests. There was trash in the bathroom when we arrived, which made me wonder whether it had been cleaned properly. The walls don’t block much noise, so you can hear almost everything from neighboring rooms. Our neighbors were extremely rude and made noise until 4 a.m. Even after we complained, nothing was done, and we couldn’t sleep.

If you’re planning a family beach weekend, pay the full amount in advance, get confirmation, and expect a calm, fun trip, this “inn” isn’t for you. We booked two nights for the previous weekend and paid in full. After driving for about three hours, we were nearly in Penha, around 7 p.m., when the inn messaged us on WhatsApp to say they were CANCELING because of overbooking. They blamed a “lack of communication” with Booking and told us to contact them directly, saying the inn had nothing to do with it. My husband, our two children, and I were left stranded, trying to get help from Booking. They found us somewhere around 11 p.m., a terrible inn that we had to accept rather than sleep outside. We left the next day and booked another place, run by serious, reliable people. We’re still trying to recover the money we lost. Did anyone from “Pousada Vo Lete” check in to see if we were okay or had found somewhere else to stay? No. Apparently, none of it was their problem. AWFUL!!!

We loved staying here. The owner was so friendly and wonderful, and we were made to feel welcome. Everything was very clean, and breakfast was amazing, no complaints at all. I’ll always remember the sweet, cute girl.
