Tina is wonderful, so attentive and helpful. The house is lovely, with a pretty garden outside, glass cabinets I loved, and a coffee table covered with books and information about the city. There’s a bus stop right in front, so it’s easy to get around by bus, Uber, or 99. Everything was well organized: each guest gets a set of bed linen and a towel on arrival. The breakfast was wonderful, with fruit, bread, cake, coffee with milk, and more. I’ll be back soon.

The location is handy, between the bus station / BR-040 and the Historic Center, in an upscale neighborhood that reminds me of Alto Leblon, here in Rio. It’s surrounded by nature and that lovely mountain climate. The hostel is spotless, with cozy rooms, tasteful decor and hand-painted details. For the quality, the prices are SURREAL. Breakfast beats what I’ve had at many expensive hotels where I’ve stayed and worked, in Brazil and abroad. There’s a well-kept garden, a terrace with a vegetable garden by the stairs, and a lovely jabuticabeira behind the main house. You can rent bikes and use the telescope to look at the sky. Inside, there’s a TV room with a fireplace and classic furnishings, including beautiful family china in a glass cabinet, but the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Tina, the owner, is MARVELOUS with guests and staff, cultured, calm, and a wonderful host. She makes everyone feel at ease as long as there’s mutual respect, and shares great tips on local outings and restaurants. I travel often, used to live in Petrópolis, and know the area. This is where I ALWAYS recommend people stay when they ask about the Imperial City. Simply fantastic, a hostel that deserves to be called a hotel.

The hostel is very clean, the accommodations are great, and breakfast is included. It’s close to both downtown and the bus station, too. For me, this is easily the best value stay in Petrópolis. The standout is the owner Tina’s warmth, along with all her helpful tips for different things to do around town.

The best place I’ve stayed in the last 10 years. Tina is incredibly attentive to guests, and the house feels so cozy. The bathrooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and there are great shared spaces to spend time with other guests. I have nothing to complain about. I had a wonderful few days here and highly recommend it.

Tina was great at suggesting things to do and places to visit around the area. The breakfast was especially good, better than what you usually get at hostels. The rooms were nice too, particularly the single room, which had a really good mattress. I recommend staying here.
