The grounds are lovely and relaxing, but the stay had some real drawbacks. Towels were frayed, the sink was blocked, the toilet rocked, and water leaked all over the bathroom. Pool service stopped at 6 PM. For what you pay, it’s far too expensive compared with similar countryside hotels, even with the Marriott network.

I was bitten all over, head to toe. We later realized the place had bed bugs: we spotted one on a pillow, though we didn’t know what it was at the time, and the others may have been under the mattress. When we arrived there weren’t any towels in the rooms, and we had to ask again and again before some were brought. It seems they already knew about the problem, which is horrifying when nothing had been done. Completely unacceptable for somewhere so expensive. Disgusting. I’d give zero stars if I could.

The property is gorgeous, but the Wi-Fi was really poor. I checked out early because of it and was told the money would be refunded to my card. That never happened, so I had to drive back to collect the cash. A very mixed experience.

There’s loads to do each day, and it’s a lot of fun. The food is incredible, and the staff are great. Fantastic place!

A lovely family stay, with nature all around and animals the kids can pet or ride. There are lots of different spots to relax, including all sorts of hammocks, and activities for children all the time.
