Pousada Olinda

The place is in a good location, with lots of restaurants nearby. It’s a rustic, very simple pousada, so it might not be for you if that’s not your style, but I liked it. Dona Jaci is lovely, the small pool was clean, and there’s plenty of water and Wi-Fi. Parking is on the street. It’s a good option if you’re trying to save money, and the stay worked out well for us.

The bed was good and large, and the price and location were good too, but the cleanliness was awful. We stayed in room 10, where there was dust, cobwebs under the bed, lots of spiders in the wall corners, and more behind the bathroom sink. The pool wasn’t clean, and they didn’t clean it. The rug in the room looked like it had never been washed. Dona Jaci is a lovely, communicative person, but they need someone to help with cleaning. Payment is cash or Pix only, no cards. There’s no parking lot, so cars stay out on the street in front. At least nobody touched ours.

The room was dirty and moldy, with dust and cobwebs. The bathroom was in terrible condition, the fan was dusty, and the pool was poorly cared for. The place is an old house with rooms at the back, and there’s no parking. The so-called “better” room didn’t match its description, and the photos don’t reflect what it’s really like. The price isn’t justified by these poor conditions. I’d avoid it: it doesn’t offer guests comfort or quality, and there are better options for the same price. I would have given it zero, but that wasn’t available.

My husband and I had a really good stay. Dna Jaci, the owner, was friendly and helpful, and our simple room did exactly what we needed. For 150 reais a night on the weekend in Oct/2023, we got a good price, a convenient location, and excellent service. Great value, and we’d certainly come back. It’s a simple, comfortable, cozy pousada, but if you want luxury, there are plenty of places in town at the matching prices.
