Pousada Recanto dos Leões

Carol was so lovely, and we were welcomed warmly. The place is simple, cozy, and pleasant, with beautiful scenery and birdsong to wake up to. It’s peaceful and quiet, and if you’re driving, Pirenópolis center is about 10 minutes away or less.

We stayed in the green suite, which was roomy, comfortable, airy, clean, and nicely decorated. It had a quiet ceiling fan, a TV, a minibar, a nice balcony, and a wonderfully hot shower. The whole inn is surrounded by nature and very quiet, with tasteful rustic decor and everything well organized. Breakfast was generous and delicious, served in a spot among the trees. The historic center is only 2 km away. We even got to see little monkeys and toucans visiting the grounds! Carol, the owner, made us feel very welcome and at ease, and shared plenty of ideas for things to do around town. It was an unforgettable stay, and we highly recommend it.

A terrible place. It’s expensive, there’s no air conditioning, and Goiás gets incredibly hot, around 40°. The ceiling fan has very little power, so sleeping is impossible. The shower has very low water pressure, and the shower screen is only half a door, with even a squeegee provided to push water out so the bathroom doesn’t flood. The chalets are ugly, and the sheets and towels are worn out. Breakfast isn’t served until 9 a.m. The owner was rude and ill-mannered. The location is poor. There are better, cheaper options in central Pirenópolis.

Great value in Pirenópolis. The rooms are comfortable, with Netflix and hot showers, and breakfast is excellent and plentiful. The host was welcoming and ready to help guests.
